An interview with Italian band Deep Samadhi.

1. For people who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words:
Ambient indie rock power trio

2. How long has the band been together?  Or if you’re a solo artist, how long have you been performing for?
One year and half

3. How did you come to play the style of music you play?
We made some rehearsals for a festival in summer ’08 an we got second on that contest, then we took confidence with lots of other songs, riffs, melodies and now we’re playing around

4. What influences the lyrics you write?
Surely the pictures of  reality, and the need to declare  about a specific subject in every song, a destination to my words to give that atmosphere to the music; i take inspiration from a friend’s accent of speaking, from sounds around the town, poem books, other music….

5. What can people expect from your live show?
To move their head around!!  or just listen…

6. What do you want people to know about your band?
If you like our sound come to visit our  myspace…

7. What would you say is your biggest achievement/accomplishment as an artist/band?
Having played 40 gigs in the first year is good! and in the last one we’ve opened  for the Hacienda from Florence

8. Have you worked with anyone notable on your releases?
We’ve recorded our EP “THIS IS NOW” in 2009 with www.suonolibero.it

9. What do you like more – playing festivals or individual shows?
It depends on the occasion, we’ve played some acoustic nights with real intimate feelings; of course a festival has a stronger sound!

10. What are the best and worst things about your local music scene?
The best is that there are still live clubs, the worst is that it’s not too easy to play there

11. If you could open for any artist, who would it be?
We’d love to open for Arctic Monkeys!

12. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere! We’d obviously like Ireland ,Uk , Usa for the style of music we play

13. What are your future plans for the band?
We’re finalists for the Extreme Tour 2010! and we’re going on with rehearsals and gigs

14. Any advice for indie bands just starting out?
The only advice is to build your own sound, with research in arrangement, instruments with one ear to the self promotion, to the real indie ground
