We talk to Slovenian band NONmusic, who opened for The Killers when they toured through Central Europe.

1. For people who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words:
Seemingly Techno/Prog Indie rock, but so much more than a classic generic generalization.

2. How long has the band been together?
The band NONmusic have been around since 2000 and actually the band was known before as Ksiht in our homecountry Slovenia.

3. How did you come to play the style of music you play?
Well…I guess it came spontaniously during years of playing and combining personal tastes of each band member into our NONmusic style.

4. What influences the lyrics you write?
A negate of everything we despise in the world around. Contradiction of love songs gone bad, poems of craving, lust, remorse, energy in vain…

5. What can people expect from your live show?
Come and see. We wont disapoint you if you are expecting real energy on stage. Personal lyrics with universal understanding,  combined with intensive rhythms, electronic sounds and electric guitar riffs.

6. What do you want people to know about your band?
Well, its all about the music. We’d like to present our music to as many people possible.

7. What would you say is your biggest achievement/accomplishment as an artist/band?
Release of our new baby ‘Not everything is made in China’ and perhaps supporting The Killers on their recent open air show in Slovenia.

8. Have you worked with anyone notable on your releases?
No. We did it all by ourselves…from composing, procuction and mixing. Except song 3rd produced by London based producer John Golley.

9. What do you like more – playing festivals or individual shows?
Hmmm.  Tough question. We would choose festivals anyway, where you can hang out with other bands, meet lots of people and present your music to a wider audience. More fun!

10. What are the best and worst things about your local music scene?
We’d rather skip that question.

11. If you could open for any artist, who would it be?
Huuuh…too many! Well one wish already came true with The Killers. Depeche Mode, Muse, Guano apes, Moby…..to name a few.

12. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Everywhere!!

13. What are your future plans for the band?
Play as many gigs possible and promote our new album ‘Not everything is made in China’

14. Any advice for indie bands just starting out?
Just beleive in what are you doing and do it with your heart. And never give up!!

Any last comments?
See you at INDIE WEEK!!
